A ceremony was suggested to compliment this relationship and with a phone call 'Friendship for Life' ceremony was initiated. The ceremony was introduced to the community on the 18th April, a week before ANZAC day. The response was received well by councilors and the Port Kembla Returned Services' League Club, where it was hosted. Attendances included, Wollongong Lord Mayor Alex Darling, Deputy Lord Mayor Kiril Jonovski, Noreen Hay MP, Jennie George MP, Ray Wetherall O.A.M, local RSL club members and community members. |
